Greene County History Museum

Founded in 1976, the Greene County Historical Society is dedicated to collecting, preserving and sharing the unique history of Greene County. Through exhibits, educational programs, special events and historic tours, the Society brings together people who are interested in learning more about the county’s people, places and heritage.

The Society operates the Greene County Historical Society History Museum at 201 East Greene Street in Greensboro. The museum features materials and displays that document Greene County’s settlement, culture, economy, education, agriculture, transportation, industry and community life.

The museum is open every Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., as well as by appointment and during select community events.
