The Old Rock Gaol
Greene Street
Located directly behind the Greene County Court House, the Old Gaol (jail) housed Greensboro's prisoners well into the 1890's. Today visitors can touch the two foot granite walls, look down over the gallows, and stand in an actual cell to imagine what life was like for the accused. Open by appointment. (706) 453-7592
Greene County History Museum

Discover Greene County's rich local history. Exhibits explore the life and times of some of Greensboro's most notable residents, examine the history of Greene County's agriculture-based economy, and discuss the impact of the construction of Lake Oconee in the 1970's. The First Saturday of every Month.

Barber House Museum
1415 North East Street
Dr. Calvin M. Baber was the second African American doctor in Greene County. This one and one-half story Craftsman Bungalow was built c.1925 and placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987. Open by appointment.

Greene County Cemetery
North East Street
Unique stones and iron work mark the burial sites of soldiers, senators, a governor and other notables from Greene County's history. Graves date from the 18th century to the present day and include soldiers from the Revolutionary War and more than forty-five unknown confederate dead.

Greene County Courthouse
Located in Greensboro in Greene County, Georgia, the courthouse was built in 1849. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.[1]
It is a three-story Greek Revival-style brick courthouse built in 1848-49, and expanded in 1938 with two wings. Its third story was added by and for the local Masonic organization.
